Gilubong ang Akong Pusod sa Dagat (My Navel is Buried in the Sea) is an experimental video project that explores the physical and emotional impact of the ocean on the lives of seafarers, fishermen, and their families. Through video and audio, the work examines and conveys the relationship between the sea and the people who depend on it for their livelihood.
The fishermen and seafarers of Madridejos, Cebu, are filmed both at sea and in their homes. Rather than providing clear answers, the film invites viewers to draw their own conclusions by immersing them in βvisionsβ of different realities as experienced and perceived by the fishermen and seafarers themselves.
