GILUBONG ANG AKON PUSOD SA DAGAT
Gilubong ang Akong Pusod sa Dagat’ (My Navel is Buried in the Sea) is an experimental video project that explores the physical and emotional impact of the ocean on the lives of seafarers, fishermen, and their families. Through the use of video and audio, the work examines and conveys the deep relationship between the ocean and those who derive their livelihood from it.
Fishermen and seafarers from Madridejos, Cebu are filmed both at sea and in their homes. Rather than offering definitive answers, the film invites viewers to draw their own conclusions by immersing them in “visions” of multiple realities as experienced and perceived by the fishermen and seafarers.
