Para Sa Aton (For Us) is an art project in Madridejos that aims to explore ways in which art can serve as a basis for solutions to a community’s financial, social, and environmental issues and needs. The project is developed by Martha Atienza together with residents of Bantayan Island and various external collaborators. It builds on Atienza’s previous work in Madridejos—Gilubong ang Akon Pusod sa Dagat (My Navel is Buried in the Sea)—which set a personal benchmark for art-based initiatives in the area and fostered strong social ties among those who later became the Para Sa Aton team.
